Enjoy the first Sunday potluck and then join us for a white elephant gift exchange in the Sanctuary, following in the tradition of Gail and Marjorie who used to host this. Bring a new or gently used gift that you would like to offer up in exchange for someone else’s gift offering. No limit on the number of people who can participate. Location: Emerson Sanctuary. - 1/18/25, Saturday, 9:00 am–4:00 pm: Excursion to Colonel Allensworth State Park. Now a ghost town, this is the only town in the history of California to be fully financed, governed, built, designed, and populated by African Americans. Come learn more about its history. - February 2, Sunday, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM: Groundhog Day Again… Come and watch the movie Groundhog Day together. One of my favorite movies and considered by some to be one of the greatest comedy films ever made, it follows the path of the lead character, played by Bill Murray, as he slowly learns how to navigate from a monotonous life with a focus on his own desires to demonstrating genuine care for others without self-interest and appreciating even the small things in life.
