Join in the OLIVE HARVEST, Saturday, October 1st!
The olive tree that stands on our church property, just outside the sanctuary window, will be ready for picking soon—let’s celebrate the abundance that grows on Emerson’s very own soil!

Saturday, October 1, from 1-5 p.m. we’ll be harvesting, collecting, sorting, and brining these precious little fruits. All ages are welcome to help out! Children are also invited to help decorate labels for the jars of finished olives for use once the brining process is complete (at least three weeks).
We’ll begin with a brief spiritual centering led by Rev. Matthew, honoring the bounty of the olive tree, which have been seen as sacred for thousands of years—but this is an informal event.  Come in comfortable work clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and feel free to bring snacks or beverages to share!  This is a great opportunity to spend some fun, family-friendly, community-building time with our new minister, to connect with each other, and to honor the gifts of the earth.
Please contact Emmalinda MacLean at emmalindadre@gmail.com with any questions. We hope to see you there!
